"Hot Spot Warm Up"
oil on canvas, 24 x 40
This Florida artist is best known for his paintings portraying jazz musicians of the 1930's to 1940's and the spontaneous moments of life that surround them. His work is vibrant with color and movement the expresses the emotion and atmosphere that he depicts in the scenes on his canvases. His work shows traces of other famous artists such as Van Gogh and Gauguin which might only be expected from a man whose academic training includes a Master of Fine Arts.
"I call my work narrative expressionism. I want the viewer to become personally involved. I hope that the work brings a smile and elicits emotions and memories that extend beyond the artwork itself."
