"Unspoken Wisdom"

"My journey began in a small town in southeast Missouri in September of 1956.  As a youngster I was able to spend a great deal of time not only with my grandparents but also with my great-grandparents.  In fact I have two grandmothers alive who continue to influence me.

The fact that I come from a long line of independent-thinking people who have had the good fortune to have enough talent to pursue their interests, whatever they were, has served me well.  I was encouraged to pursue my interests in life.

My interests have had a wide and varied range.  Formal education never has quite worked for me.  Since my mind tends to get locked onto one thing at a time, I quite often find myself still thinking about something several hours after the fact, which does not lend itself to hourly changes.  I am considered self-taught which is not quite right.  In my quest for knowledge, I have had numerous mentors to whom I owe a great deal of credit.

My journey crossed the path of a wonderful person who happened to be looking for a traveling partner.  It is in this union with my wife that I found and continue to find the support for the things I want to try and do in life."     -John Ellis
